The SNP led Glasgow City Council, under the questionable leadership of Susan Aitken have decided not to reopen several public libraries in poorer communities in the city. They have not consulted with any of the affected people and have been less than straight with their answers when challenged. Dressing up the city for the COP26 event is more important it seems than serving the ordinary working people who voted for them.
Maryhill Library, the Couper Institute Library and Whiteinch Library, all well established, well used facilities, and all housed in architecturally significant buildings remain closed and unavailable to the public.
The communities so disgracefully ignored by the callous behaviour of the Council and its broken management company, Glasgow Life, have rallied and fought back.
This is a collection of artwork displayed on the rotting library railings that has been produced by the citizens of Whiteinch who just want their library back.
